In September 2015, Ill-Studio led a week-long workshop with ECAL students along with a conference and video screening in the ECAL Theatre.
The brief for the workshop was to create a visual dialogue with a selection of student original works and the “sources” connected to the work itself, in order to highlight the cultural environment and the different types of inspirations which compliment the creation of an image, a typeface, or an object.
The collective source cloud initiated a self-reflexive dialogue and an encyclopedia of influences in which the original works and their references blended together, no matter whether they were classic or contemporary, direct or abstract. As a result, a publication and an exhibition were developed by the students in a collaborative effort in order to extrude the concept via an array of art directed media.
Ill-Studio & Christophe Lemaire collaborated on a collection in tribute to French writer Yves Adrien and his 1978 confessions Novövision predicting the revolution of machines in the music history. The collection included shirts, t-shirts, jacquards, trousers and jackets. A compilation disk of European post-punk and new wave music was released for the occasion.
Directed by Ill-Studio, “Bring Your Love“ is a postmodern love-in with Joakim and the Rapture’s Luke Jenner featuring Bianca O’Brien.
In 2016, Chanel commissioned Ill-Studio to give their take on one of their most iconic perfume, Chanel Bleu. The video, featuring the voice of French actor Gaspard Ulliel, shows a perfume bottle warped. This came as a reference to our previous film Twisted Objects.

As part of the Nike and Pigalle Spring-Summer 2017 collaboration, Ill-Studio conceived and designed original modules used for various installations. The designs establish a parallel between antique architecture and modernist Italian designers such as Carlo Scarpa, Gio Ponti and Aldo Rossi.
